چکیده
Surgical site infections (SSIs) are a major health care associated and possess great challenge to clinicians. It increases duration of hospital stay, morbidity mortality treatment cost. For prompt appropriate management, it is necessary understand the microbial etiology its antimicrobial susceptibility pattern. To determine prevalence SSI along with clinico-bacteriological profile antibiogram correlate risk factors. A cross-sectional study was conducted in Department Microbiology Nil Ratan Sircar Medical College & Hospital, Kolkata for period one year (2020-2021). Post-operative surgical within 30 days after surgery were included study. All samples collected from clinically suspected cases processed lab as per standard laboratory protocol. Vitek®2 compact system (BIOMERIEUX) used further identification testing. Gram negative pathogens resistant 3rd generation cephalosporins screened ESBL AmpC. Carbapenem isolates subjected Carba NP test carbapenemase production. Out 6582 surgeries, SSIs detected 220 cases. Among these patients, 186 patients confirmed laboratory, rate being 2.83%. In 62.27% cases, growth mono-microbial. Growth gram organisms noted 58.72% positive 38.53%. (57.14%) predominant followed by (35.94%). Diabetes mellitus, obesity using prophylactic antibiotic >2 hours prior found be significantly associated. organism, Vancomycin Linezolid most susceptible antimicrobials organisms, Polymyxin B Meropenem. Most producer (67.97%). Rapidly emerging multi drug complicating management infection day possessing significant burden system. implementation policy, important identify bacteriological every hospital.
